David and Beky Hazelton are high school sweethearts who have been married for over 45 years. Together they have raised three grown children and welcomed a granddaughter. For more than four decades they have been members of Cornerstone Church in Annandale, Virginia, where David has served as Elder, Deacon, Church Chairman, small group leader, and Sunday School teacher — and where they host a weekly Bible Study and an international student ministry in their home.
David brings a rare combination to this work: the heart of a Sunday School teacher and the analytical precision of a seasoned attorney. As a longtime partner at Latham & Watkins LLP, one of the world's largest and most prestigious law firms, he spent decades handling complex, high-stakes matters by doing exactly what he does in this book — identifying key principles and making them clear, practical, and actionable for real life.
God's Marriage Blueprint is his second book. He is also the author of The Simplified Guide: Paul's Letters to the Churches (Deep River Books, 2013).
AUTHOR
David Hazelton
David received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, graduating with honors and serving as an editor of the Michigan Law Review. He clerked on a federal court of appeals before joining Latham & Watkins, where he spent decades as a partner handling complex litigation and high-stakes matters.
Beyond his legal career and local church, David is Chair and Founding Director of the Michigan Christian Study Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and serves on the Executive Committees of Denver Seminary and Central Union Mission, a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C.
He is deeply committed to Christian ministry to the poor and vulnerable, currently serving on the boards of Unto, Inc. (Cru's humanitarian subsidiary, providing food, medical aid, and relief in the world's toughest places), Redeem International (protecting widows and orphans in Sub-Saharan Africa), and Chariots for Hope (operating a network of children's homes in Kenya). He also served for years as outside pro bono counsel for International Justice Mission.
